Abstract

This research work discusses the team quiz method for improving the learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education in grade IX students of SMP Negeri 5 Balikpapan for the 2022-2023 Academic year. This research was motivated by the phenomenon of low learning outcomes which was marked by the lack of students who were able to exceed the KKM score. In this study, the use of the team quiz method was offered in Islamic Religious Education lessons for Zakat material. The formulation of the problem stated is "How big is the Team Quiz Method for Improving Islamic Religious Education Learning Outcomes in Class IX Students of SMP Negeri 5 Balikpapan for the 2022-2023 Academic Year" The problem is studied through classroom action research. The data collection method uses documentation, observation, and test techniques. Data obtained by students through the written test
at the end of the lesson for the first cycle there were 20 students (55.6%) who had reached learning completion and there were still 16 students (44.4%) who had not reached learning completion with student absorption reaching 68%. In cycle II there
was an increase to 31 students (86.1%) who reached completion and who did not complete 5 students (13.9%) with student absorption reaching 84.7%. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the team quiz method can improve the
learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education in class IX of SMP Negeri 5 Balikpapan for the 2022-2023 Academic Year by 36%.
