Abstract

Teachers must use various strategies, models, learning methods with positive reinforcement, rewards and meaning so as to encourage student involvement in learning activities. The selection of reward as one of the alternative strategies in
learning Islamic Religious Education with the basic competence of memorizing At Tin letters is due to the thoughts and problems experienced by students in memorization lessons. The purpose of this study was to improve the ability to memorize Surah At Tin
by giving Graded Incentive Rewards to Islamic Religious Education lessons for class IXD students of SMPN 7 Balikpapan.

The research was carried out using an action research design which was carried out in 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were all students of class IX-D

After the action was carried out by giving Graded Incentive Rewards, in cycle 1 there were 19 students (63.6%) who had achieved complete learning outcomes. While in the second cycle there was an increase to 25 people (83.8%) who achieved completeness in learning outcomes.
