Abstract

Learning media is one of the factors that affect the achievement of student learning outcomes. One of the learning media that can be used in learning Islamic Religious Education is audio-visual learning media. The formulation of this research problem is: "Can the use of learning media in learning Islamic Religious Education improve the learning outcomes of students in grades VIII-5 at SMP Negeri 6
Balikpapan?" The purpose of this study is to improve the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Balikpapan for the 2018-2019 academic year in the subject of Islamic Religious Education through the use of learning media.
The research was carried out using a class action research design which was carried out in 2 cycles. The research procedure of each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were all students of class VIII-5 of SMP Negeri 6 Balikpapan, totaling 38 people. The data collection technique uses observation and tests, while the method used to analyze the data from this study is a descriptive method. For quantitative data is analyzed by creating class intervals and performing presentation in the form of tables and graphs.
Through the use of media the student can optimize his mental ability to learn in an atmosphere that touches qalbu as well as full of togetherness . In addition, learning also becomes more interesting and meaningful.
