PENERAPAN METODE MIND MAPPING SEBAGAI UPAYA MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI DAN HASIL BELAJAR

This research is an effort to improve student motivation and learning outcomes with the mind mapping method for class IX students at SMP Negeri 3 Palangka Raya in semester 1 of the 2019/2021 academic year. The type of research is classroom action research. The steps in this classroom action research are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection which are carried out in two cycles. The subjects in this study were class IX students of SMP Negeri 3 Palangka Raya in Semester 1 of the 2019/2020 academic year, totaling 19 students. Data collection was carried out using observation, test and documentation techniques. The data collected in the form of observations, tests and learning documentation. The data validation in this action research is democratic, process, and dialogic validity. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the mastery of learning prior to the improvement of learning was 5 students or 26.32%, increased to 12 students or 63.16% in the first cycle, and 94.74% or 18 students in the second cycle. The increase in student learning outcomes from the average in the initial conditions of 4 students or 21.05%, increased to 9 students or 47.37% in the first cycle, and 89.47% or 17 students in the second cycle. The increase in student learning outcomes from the average in the initial conditions was only 63.68, rose to 72.53 in the first cycle, and 82.63 in the second cycle. The conclusion is that the application of the mind mapping method is proven to increase motivation and learning outcomes for Islamic Religious Education and Morals for Class IX Students of SMP Negeri 3 Palangka Raya Semester 1 of the 2019/2020 Academic Year.
