Abstract

This study aims to increase students' learning motivation through the jigsaw type cooperative learning model. This research was conducted on students of SMP Negeri 8 Palangka Raya class VII.5 and VII.7 (as many as 30 people) as respondents. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques, namely observation, documentation, and tests. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles. Based on all the discussions and analyzes that have been carried out, it is concluded that learning with the jigsaw model has a positive impact on increasing students' learning motivation, which is marked by an increase in the value of students in taharah material for students in grades VII.5 and VII.7 of SMP Negeri 8 Palangka Raya.
