Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to read the Koran correctly (tartil), in accordance with the rules of makhraj and for tajwid in class VIII-3 SMP Negeri 1 Palangka Raya and to increase attention and interest in reading the Koran in class VIII- 3 SMP Negeri 1 Palangka Raya. This research was conducted on students of SMP Negeri 1 Palangka Raya class VIII.3 as many as 27 people as respondents. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with data collection techniques, namely observation, documentation, questionnaires, diaries/journals, and tests. This classroom action research was conducted in two cycles. Based on all the discussions
and analyzes that have been carried out, it can be concluded that the application of the Iqra 'method can improve the ability to read the Koran and increase students' learning activities in reading the Koran
