This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the perceptions of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Teachers regarding the implementation of the independent curriculum in educational institutions. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The research data were obtained from interviews with PAI teachers in Manado City and informants who supported the
results of this study. In addition, data were obtained from observations and documentation data relating to the implementation of the independent curriculum.
Based on the results of this study, it was obtained data that PAI teachers in Manado City had a positive perception of the implementation of the independent curriculum. This is based on the consideration that the independent curriculum has considerations, goals and content that are in line with Islamic religious education
in schools. In addition, the presence of an independent curriculum that forms the profile of Pancasila students further strengthens the achievement of the learning objectives of Islamic Religious education which also emphasizes aspects of student character or the formation and strengthening of students' akhlakul karimah. In addition, according to the results of the research, teachers note that the implementation of an independent curriculum must always refer to the basics and
goals of Islamic education. In the implementation aspect, it is necessary to provide training for teachers so that the implementation will be better.
