Abstract

The problems in this classroom action research are, first, whether the method of group work in Islamic religious education can improve student achievement. Second, how are the results of the group work method on student achievement. The purpose of this study was to improve the learning process of Islamic religious education in the classroom and to find out the results of the application of the group work method.

This study uses three rounds of classroom action research. Each round consists of four stages, namely: design, activities and observations, reflection, and revision. The subjects of this study were students of class IX SMPN 11 Masni. The data obtained in the form of formative tests and observations in learning. The results showed that student learning achievement increased from each cycle, namely 68.18% cycle I, cycle II 79.01%, and cycle III 86.36%. In cycle III, classical student learning completeness has been achieved
